“Oni” is a four month old cream puppy who is full of puppy energy and joy.  She will run and play until she is exhausted, nap, and then get right up to play again!  She loves toys and will race around the room with a tennis ball or stuffed toy hanging out of her mouth-stopping occasionally to drop it and “pounce” on it. 

She loves to play with the other dogs, and her happy Shiba grin as she is playing chase with her “friends” is unbelievably cute.

She has done well with both the male and female Shibas in her foster home though she tends to be an “in your face” kind of pup and a little bit dominant.  She has received many a warning growl from the other Shibas for nipping at ears and muzzles.  She loves playing with our other foster, Moshi, and will play bow and leap around to get his attention. “Oni” will probably do fine in a house with another non-dominant dog. 

“Oni” is crate trained and house trained, though she is still a young puppy and needs to go outside to go potty every couple hours during the day to avoid “accidents”.

“Oni” is a very determined Shiba puppy and will require someone with an understanding of primitive breeds and a lot of patience to guide her through her puppy days.  She is extremely intelligent and will need an owner who will be able to direct her energy towards the right activities. 

Potential adopters must be willing to take “Oni” to positive training classes and continuing to socialize her.  Training classes are a very important component of the bonding process, between the adopters and their new family member.  

Like most Shibas, “Oni” is a door bolter and extremely fast.  Due to this, we do not feel that a home with children under 10 years of age would be appropriate for her.
