Adopting a Courtesy Listed Shiba Inu

National Shiba Rescue lists dogs as a courtesy. Generally listings come from owners wishing to surrender their shiba, shiba rescuers fostering a shiba, or shelters. Shibas listed in courtesy listings are not cared for by National Shiba Rescue or Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue (MSIR). If you are interested in adopting a courtesy listed dog please contact the current owner/foster/caretaker.

All negotiations regarding the adoption will be carried out privately between you and the current caretaker. Since we cannot guarantee any listed Shiba, prospective owners are encouraged to obtain as much information as possible before adoption to determine if a particular dog is the right match for your particular circumstances and environment.

National Shiba Rescue, with the help of Midwest Shiba Inu rescue (MSIR), does its best to act as a liaison to bring together adoption applicants and those wishing to surrender a shiba as well as to provide information to assist individuals in the adoption or surrender process.

Neither National Shiba Rescue, MSIR, nor their Internet Provider are responsible for the accuracy of the information in these listings. We provide listings "as-is" to help Shiba Inus find homes. As such we rely solely on the information provided to us by the current caretaker.

Adopted Shibas are the sole responsibility of the adopting party. National Shiba Rescue and MSIR accept no responsibility for any liability, injury or damages to any person or property caused by any listed animal, or any cause of action, claims, suits or demands that may arise as a result of such injury or damage.

If you have any questions about the adoption process, please contact us.
